Received this Book for Honest ReviewI Give this Book 3.5 out of 5 Stars, Listing as 3 Stars.Cliffy(?): YesI read this book in one sitting, I didn’t not put this book down at any moment, even when there were a few moments in the book that made me really want to though.I’m definitely looking forward the next book though.Gypsy was a very likable and for the most part of the book very rational, I really was hoping she was going to be different but it went the route we all knew it would, but I hope the next book she make the boys crawl to her feet Lol.This is definitely a cliched Bully Reverse Harem Romance, but hey, I happen to like those very much, thank you. lolSome side characters had a little bit more book time than I would’ve liked.Very Good Cliffhanger. To those that are new to this type of Genre, this would be a ‘soft’ introduction to it.Definitely recommending & Cant wait to see what happens next :)I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was hooked from the first chapter. I could not put it down and finished it in one sitting. If you liked CM Stunich's Rich Boys Of Burberry Prep, Meagan Brandy's Boys of Brayshaw or EM Moore's Ballers of Rockport - you should give this book a try. I've read a lot of bully romance ( RH or other wise), and this one was a welcome surprise. I wasn't expecting much, tbh, when I dove into this book as they're all starting to sound about the same but I was glad to have taken a chance. I loved Gypsy Roman's character - her moxie, gumption, snark, wit and humor. The authors managed to show her strong yet vulnerable side throughout the book. I love the cover too, which is a bonus. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and get to know Preston, Quinton and Maddox a little better. There were a couple of typos but no biggie ( too was used instead of to; luck instead of lucky )but not enough to bug me.I am including an excerpt from the book. Trust me, she was justified. ( To the Authors: Please don't come after me for copyright infringement. It will only be used solely for the purpose of this review.)“Miss Roman, are you listening? What did I just say?†Miss Sabine’s annoyance punctured my lost-in-time moment but for once I was thankful for her nasally voice and obvious dislike for me. “Don’t go so hard on her, Miss Sabine,†Rosalie said, the picture of solicitous concern that was as fake as her tits. “They probably didn’t teach manners in the backwoods of California. I’ll bet she knows how to skin a deer and gut a fish, though.†“I also know how to kick ugly bitches’ asses so I’d watch yourself,†I said, cutting my gaze away from Rosalie and her suddenly pinched expression. To Sabine, I admitted, “You caught me, totally wasn’t paying attention but if I were to wager a guess, you were probably going on about the assigned reading, Inferno, which, I read when I was twelve, by the way. If Dante had been a student at Twin Falls, he would’ve added a few more levels of hell.â€
Could not finish, 84% and I was really done, I did not appreciate how this RH was done, dating one guy while constantly feeling like he was using you or would go back to his ex , yet you go behind his back and start throwing yourself at his friends, kissing them, saying I shouldn't do this but I'm going to anyways. I had zero respect for this book and gypsy's character. This book mostly consist of Preston trying to get to know and wanting to date the new girl gypsy, but our girl has some serious issues and is snappy, hostile and all out rude most times when talking with him. Which is funny because you think the way Preston ex is to her she'd stick up more for herself, yet she doesnt. I did not find gypsy strong in anyway, I found her insecure, bratty, and very whiny. I did not care for her and Georgia as friends, Georgia did not once have gyps back or root for her, instead she kept saying how she was making a bigger mess and was Frankly scared about everything that did not concern her. About 60-70 % in the book gypsy starts talking and getting to know Prestons friends, and in first time encounters with them she's literally either climbing on top of them or just all out kissing these guys she does not know, while in her mind she knows she's being a h*e and not caring. And honestly she is not wrong, she's a disgusting person, and I can't see why this has high ratings.
I REALLY wanted to like this. It’s the same plot as a lot of RH bully romances that take place in a rich community. I’m okay with that because it’s popular and I dig a good story where the boys have to beg for forgiveness and redeem themselves. It’s my jam. I loved the smart banter between everyone. It kind of reminded me of Gilmore Girls and Dawson’s Creek.Gypsy started out as a great character. But then she started crying over everything. I first took her as sassy and strong but then something would happen and her first go-to is tears. I understand the storyline is traumatic and the boys are heartless. But you can’t have both. She internally reminded herself over and over again that she’s strong and nobody can break her but then she’s crying again. She also mentions her v-card in almost every chapter. She’s a virgin, we get it. She doesn’t want to give it up and regret it. But she’s attracted to the guys. She just won’t shut up about it. I also felt like the entire thing was way too fast paced. I know it’s under 200 pages so a lot had to be thrown in but sooooo much happens too quickly.I saw that there’s going to be 3 more books and I’m left wondering why they couldn’t be condensed to just one.I’m not sure I’ll continue the series.
